Kilimanjaro Climb
Earlier this week, I visited Leeds homeless charity St George’s Crypt to get a better idea of how the organisation works and also to help them prepare and then serve lunch for the more than the 60 people using the service that day.
Working with adults in Leeds that are homeless, vulnerable or suffering from addiction, St George’s Crypt helps to transform lives through assistance in finding accommodation, as well as helping to develop the skills and confidence needed to increase employment opportunities. They have up to 40 bed spaces and offer the chance for people to get fed, washed and clothed 365 days a year.
I have lost someone close to me as a result of drug addiction and it was inspiring as well as humbling to walk around the centre and witness first hand that vital assistance in action.
Since opening in 1930, St George’s Crypt has changed countless lives and is continuing to do so today for people across the city of Leeds.
