On Wednesday 11 December, I will be returning to my old school, Cape Cornwall to attend and help present at its annual Awards night. The evening celebrates the previous year’s school leavers and will see former students collect their GCSE certificates and a number of special awards.
As the name suggests, Cape Cornwall sits at the far South West of the UK in Penzance. I joined the school after we made the move as a family from Leeds and had a fantastic few years there.
It is a huge honour to be returning to Cape on such a special evening of the year and I look forward to congratulating everyone there as well as seeing how the school has changed and checking out a few of my old haunts.
The school has a rich history of promoting journalism and I was lucky enough to work as editor of the school newspaper during my time there. Today they have a brilliant radio station, Cape Radio and I will be on there later this week to talk about my memories of the school and how it stood me in great stead for later life.
In addition to the other awards, I will also be presenting a new accolade that is currently top secret but I will update you on it closer to the time!
